Warm welcome for new Hicksville Middle School students

Hicksville Middle School recently hosted a special breakfast to welcome students who are new to the district and help them feel at home in their new school community. The gathering gave students an opportunity to meet fellow newcomers, discover that they are not alone in navigating a new environment, and begin building connections with their peers.
Throughout the event, students participated in a variety of engaging activities designed to encourage conversation, foster friendships, and build a sense of belonging. Activities included Getting to Know You Bingo, fun conversation starters, and board games that promoted interaction and teamwork. Students also had the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences as they are adjusting to their new school.
Principal Benjamin Tangney said, “By bringing new students together and providing opportunities to build relationships from the start, we are laying the foundation for a positive and successful middle school experience.”
The breakfast reflects Hicksville Middle School’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and connected.
