Building healthy snack habits in Hicksville Schools

Elementary students in Hicksville will benefit from a newly launched weekly initiative as part of a USDA Child Nutrition Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Grant. The purpose of the program is to introduce a variety of fruits and vegetables, giving students opportunities to discover new healthy foods and build wellness habits.
Hicksville students will enjoy a free serving of fresh produce twice a week during the school day. Each month features a rotating selection of fruits and vegetables, giving students the chance to discover new flavors, learn about healthy choices, and build lasting habits for wellness.
Burns Avenue Elementary students enjoy bananas as part of a newly launched weekly initiative as part of the USDA Child Nutrition Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Grant.
