The Winter Recital of the Tri-M Music Honor Society delivered an ambitious program of timeless classics to a standing-room-only audience in the Hicksville High School Kristoff Theatre. The 37 members of the troupe played and sang their way through 15 musical selections in a program lasting just under two hours. The score ranged from classical compositions by Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Brahms and Mendelssohn to a jazzy “When the Saints Go Marching In” and a guitar arrangement of Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature.” The recital closed with an octet performing a lively a cappella rendition of the Finnish traditional “Sakkijarven Polkka.”
