The week of December 5 – 11, 2016 has been designated as Computer Science Education Week. In support of this week, many of the students at Woodland will participate in an Hour of Code. The computer programming opportunity was presented via the SMART Board and iPads in the classrooms and on desktops in the computer lab. The students viewed tutorials and then created programs to create commands to “turn left, turn right, move forward”, and in some cases had “if then” statements. This activity highlighted the basics of computer science. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and in many instances went up to the top level! Do we have future computer programmers here at Woodland?
