Board of Education Recognition Ceremony

As part of an annual tradition at the district, student representatives from each school expressed their gratitude for the members of the Board of Education for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the year. The special ceremony was held in honor of Board Appreciation Month at its October meeting.

With their principals also in attendance, students from each elementary school personally presented each Board Member with a gift, and a student from the middle and high schools delivered heartfelt speeches expressing their own appreciation.

Second-grader Lincoln Guida of Old Country Road School was one of the many students that thanked the Board of Education on behalf of their schools.  In this photograph, Mr. Lubrano stands with student Lincoln Guida and Dr. Bonuso as a gift is presented to Lynda Parmely.

Following the recognition ceremony, high school seniors Shana Mathew and Jakub Tarlowski were honored as 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Students, and were presented with certificates by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carl Bonuso, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Marianne Litzman and Board of Education President Phil Heckler.

The ceremony served as a forum for the students to collectively offer tokens of appreciation for the members of the Board of Education on behalf of the district.
